I've read many post concerning the 68-69 technical manual errors and problems. While we all know that this is only a guide, and not a bible, we must all consider the possibility of revision. I have the capabilities (computer equ.) to collect data (correct) and process this into a new form. All I need is everyones help to send info to me, with the corrected problems and what pages they occured on. Added suggestions and added elements (like what part number to look for)to the book are a must, like and indepth glossary, with page numbers to specific parts etc. The book is well laid out, but it seems that the same overlapping questions are coming up. I have most every book available for the 68 and most of the books contain info on the 69. This whole thing will take a while to produce, so I want to have some feedback on what others felt, oh what about copy rights etc...?? The greatest thing about my frame off experience was the finding of the part numbers, marker marks and other elements and these things are absent from the current book.(or vague) I just feel that since we are jumping into a new century, other future restorers can have the correct information to preserve what America has deamed their sports car, the CORVETTE. Thanks jc -----on a mission.

Re: 68 Technical Manual Revision
Chester,
I would suggest you contact Dick Whittington the current 1968-1968 National Team Leader. He is currently working on the revisions for his Technical Information Manual & Judging Guide. He will be more than pleased to put you on the mailing list for proposed updates and might even give you some of the update responsibilities.

Re: 68 Technical Manual Revision
chester,
As Roy mentioned, I think there are some folks already doing that. You'll probably have to join in with them.
What I'd really like to see is your completed (and judged) restoration in book form. That would really fill in an empty space for reference: A 1968 Restoration Guide complete with color photos (you did use color film, didn't you?) Tom #24014
PS: Why haven't you returned my e-mails? Are you some sort of SNOB? You're not the only guy with a 68! Also, glad you decided not to go with the BB exhaust manifold washers. TB- Top

Re: 68 Technical Manual Revision
To add to what Roy said, Dick Whittington recently sent out a mailing regarding the EXTERIOR section only. Dick is going to do the revisions one section at at time--a wise move in my opinion. Right now, only the exterior section is being worked on. When this is done, another section will be addressed. When all sections are completed, the new TM will be published. Contact Dick for further info. Hope this helps. Chuck1963 Corvette Conv. 327/360 NCRS Top Flight
