What do you want to know?...
I have a '55 which has been in my family since new. Nonetheless, due to normal use many things became unclear over the years, such as electrical items and exhaust system. There are others here who could answer your questions even better than I, but I'll help whereever I can. Why don't you start by putting you car in the C1 Registry and in the 53-55 Registry book? The 53-55 book can reached via John Hutchins kjhh41@hotmail.com. The C1 Registry through the link.

PS...
Welcome to ownership of one of the least documented Corvettes ever produced! No proper AIM, and suprisingly few production photos. Only 700 were produced, and few survive unmolested. The original color of your car can only be detrmined by careful examination of the car. You can see my harvest gold and a Corvette copper at the C1 Registry.- Top

The 53-55 Registry...
...Lists over 1500 53-55 cars, probably 2000 by now.
The only way to establish color is by examining the car for original paint remmnants or by information from the original owner or her family & friends.
There is no serial number on the 55 engine, only the application code stamped on the block pad and of course the casting and part numbers on the parts.
My car can be seen at www.c1registry.com, it's the harvest gold one. If you are trying to figure something specific, let me know and I'll send you a detail photo.- Top
