    C-1 Radiator support

How does one tell the difference between a radiator support made for an aluminun radiator and one made for a brass radiator? 1960.

Look at your aluminum radiator mounts on the bottom. You have two studs with a rubber doughnut around each. That mounts to the two 1.5" indentions in the bottom of the radiator support. Also the same single mount on the top.

Brass Copper Radiators mount from the ends of the radiators.

    Hope this helps.

The most visible clue is the support bar that runs across the top of the support. All aluminum supports had a bar the jogged to the front side while copper supports were straight across. This is the reason that a 59 hood will not work on a top tank radiator. It is not interference with the top tank, but rather interference with the bar at the top of the radiator support.
