    C1 59: Wiper motor cleaning

    Hi all,

Does anyone now a method to thouroughly clean the wiper motor ? A lot of dust and oil traces currently resides into the rough surface (see photo).

    thanks,
    Rob.

Re: C1 59: Wiper motor cleaning

Rob, on my 1960 motor I used a degreaser to remove the oil, then used a toothbrush and a rust remover (in the U.S. it is called naval jelly). This process made it very clean, but dull, I did not want to pay to have it replated so I spray painted it with chrome paint, then used 3000 grit wet/dry sandpaper to carefully remove the shine, but not the color. The 3000 grit sandpaper does not make scratches. To me it looks great.
