Is part #3965754 an LT-1 cam? Someone is selling this original GM cam as an LT-1 or Z/28 cam.

that is a SBC race only cam,not a street cam

Yes, I agree with Clem. The 3965754 camshaft was an over-the-counter SHP camshaft first available in 1970. It was NEVER used in a PRODUCTION engine, either a Z-28, LT-1 or ANY other. In my opinion, it would be too radical for street use. At least, you'd NEVER catch me installing a camshaft like this in an engine that I was going to use on the street.

It's referred to informally as the "second design" racing cam and was used in Trans-Am Camaro racing engines. The "first design" racing cam is 3927140.

Both these cams have very high overlap and are SPECIFICALLY designed for headers and open exhaust and are TOTALLY unsuitable for ANY street high performance application.

The LT-1 cam part number is 3972178.

Perfect cam for retro club racer?

Sounds good to me (no pun intended!) If one wants to build a C1 retro-look SCCA club racer reproduction, then this cam would be a good choice to provide the right power and sound?
