Can Anyone ID This Ign Coil Application?

Hi,
I found a Delco ignition coil in my '63 that seems to have been there for a long time.
It is #039 12V.
Anyone know what car or year this is for?

I have since replaced it with the proper 087 coil.

GM #1115039 was a predecessor or alternate part number for the GM #1115202 coil. I can't find any record that it was ever available as a SERVICE part, so this may have been a PRODUCTION-only piece. If so, I would not rule out the possibility that it was originally used on some Corvettes which are today thought of to be correct only with the '202' coil.

Just one other thing. Which year were the '202' coils used?
As I said before, it appears that the '039' coil had been on my car car for a very long time. It must be good for someones application?

I'm not sure. For Corvettes I think that the first use was late 1964 or 1965. However, they may have been used for other applications prior to that.

I have a Delco application catalog with all delco-produced parts by vehicle. The only coils shown for '63 are the 087 and the 091.
