68 Small Block Air Cleaner Base

    Greetings,
Can anyone please tell me the differences in the air claner base between the small block 327 engine and the big block 427.
I have a small block 327 L79 motor in a 1968 and a Corvette aftermarket dealer sold me a base that fits over the Rochester carburetor but has three (3) hose fittings on the underside. He claimed it was for the small block and I believed him. Today another parts dealer sold me a similar base with only one hose fitting on the underside also claiming it is the original for my car.
How can I tell which is the correct 14" filter base for my car.
Thank you in advance for any input,
    Kurt # 26406

The correct base for your car has only one fitting. There are at least two versions of the single vent base. One is for the big block with a different vent tube orientation from the small block. For the life of me, I cannot remember which way the tubes point.
