    Beautiful '67 on eBay ... but ...

    Item 2467380874

First flag, no paperwork provided, they are standing on the word of the previous owner.

    Second flag, Engine code T0II7IL
    Block casting date D 18 7.
Car serial number 109503 (first week of Feb.)

Still, it is a beautiful car. I just hope the bidders aren't bidding on an original engine car.

There was a 1969 L88 with a similar story from a dealer in New England about a year ago. Bids went up as high as $60,000 - luckily it didn't hit the reserve!

      Mike,
There is a '56 on ebay right now that is being represented as not only original condition but also as "totally original". I wrote to the seller and found it to be a person that is selling it for a friend and that is how he described it to her. She asked me to provide her a list of things in question and she would ask him about them. I began to list the obvious things that were not correct and damn near ran out of bandwidth! I asked her to publish the casting number and stamp pad and she added the casting number as 372099 and said it was the original engine but it had probably been rebuilt. I let her know that it should be 091 not 099. There are 28 bids on this car and I just hope that people out there know what they are bidding on. If you are one of those 28 and care to know my concerns about this misrepresented car feel free to email me. BTW- if it sold for the current price, it would be a good driver car but there are still several days left on the auction.

I e-mailed him on the NOM, and that he might be perpetuating a fraud. I'll see if he responds.

That one is a known fake that hit eBay several times.
