    Rear compartment cover carpet

I purchased a new jack compartment cover and carpet to get rid of the speaker holes due to past "mods", and have a question. Is there any padding or insulation in-between the carpet and cover? If not, should I add it anyway to help with sound insulation?

      Tim -

No padding - the carpet is glued directly to the board.

No padding between carpet tiles and press-board doors and the others have said, but there was a foam rubber gasket ringing the compartment door jamb of the battery access compartment and repro's are available from Dr. Rebuild.
