Will 15" x 7" Rally wheels work on a '66 or would there be interference problems? As part of a package I recently bought, a set of Rally wheels and P215/65R15 red line tiger paws were included. Two of the wheels have "WF" by the valve stem, the other two have "FW" and there is 7" inside lip to lip. I'd like to try them on my '66 if they fit. Anybody know? Thanks. Pat G.

Re: 15 x 7" Rally wheels for a '66
I installed 68 Corvette 15x7 Rally wheels on my 65 with 215/70R15 and they worked fine.
If your wheel/tire combination is too close to the fender, you might try 15x7 Camaro Rally wheels, they have a deeper offset.

Re: 15 x 7" Rally wheels for a '66
I'm surprised that combination worked! Are you sure they aren't '67 6" Rally wheels???
The '68 Corvette 7" Rally wheel has - 0.28" offset. The '67 6" wheels are +0.06" offset. The Camaro and Monte Carlo 7" Rallys are closer to zero offset, but I'm not sure of the exact value.
The negative offset was required on the Corvette wheel to clear the end of the rear spring, so I don't think the Camaro/Monte Carlo wheels will fit, and I've never seen a C2 with '68 Corvette Rallys and near OE diameter 70 series tires without the fender lips shaved, and even then, they are tight.
Measure the offset, or, since I assume they have a tire mounted try a trial fit, but be careful.

Re: 15 x 7" Rally wheels for a '66
I had 7" (1968 Vette) wheels on a 65 many years ago. Can't remember what size the tires were, but they rubbed in two places when turning. The worst of it was the rounded area that "flows" from the parking light back to the edge of the wheel opening.
I sold the car and found the wheels (with smaller tires) were still on the car ten years later! The wheel well edges in the front were pretty well worn (or filed) down by then...
Look in an old parts book to see if you are measuring the width correctly. If you have seven inch wide Corvette wheels, I think they are correct for 1968 only...http://MichiganNCRS.org

Duke,
They are definitely 68 Corvette wheels, by configuration and markings. I no longer have the car so I cannot give you the exact stamps. The guy who bought the car is still using the tire/wheels.
They were close on the wheel lips but did not rub significantly...no noticable marks any place on the tires.

You were lucky. I have seen fender lips totally destroyed by '68 7" ralleys and F-70 tires. Apparently there is quite a bit of variation in wheel well openingsDick Whittington- Top

Re: 15 x 7" Rally wheels for a '66
------Have used many sets of early Monte Carlo 15/7 rallys on customer cars over the years to keep an absolutely stock appearance while adding an inch of wheel width. These wheels had the same outside offset as original 6 inch rallys so the correct trim ring fit perfectly. Dont remember any inside clearance issues. Mike Hanson will remember the Cookie Monsters 67 was set up this way!..........Bill S- Top
