The 1970-1972 Technical Information Manual & Judging Guide (TIM&JG) has a drawing of the correct rivet configuration. It also has some words which will help describe the correct configuration of the rivet. That is often referred to as the "Judging Manual." Joe my 85 has a metal scissor folding type hood support on the right side and is original equipment. My 96 has the type you mentioned on the left side. My old C4 parts book shows the scissor type listed for the 84 Corvette as #14069647 but not for the 85 Corvette. The telescoping rod type is listed for the 85-87 Corvette #14105596. Wonder when the transition to the telescoping hood support was made for the 85 Corvettes?

I wasn't aware that 84-85 used the scissor type support. I should have checked before I spoke on this one. I was sure until 82 and I THOUGHT I knew after 82.
