Trying to identify what vintage of hood prop this is. We concluded in yesterdays postings that it didn't fit a C3 (as I first thought) Mike Ernst suggested that it is from a C1. Maybe some C1 guys can take a look at the photo and let me know what they think. Thanks for your help everybody! Gary

That is in fact a C1 hood support and is an original and not a repro.

John - do you know if this will fit all C1's (53-62) or are there differences between the years. Thanks

Gary,
It would appear that this is a 58-62 support. The 53-57 support would have the fender side mount flange turned the opposite direction. The 58-62 mounting flanges both face the same direction. That being said, I believe that all the parts are the same and you can convert either to the other by flipping the bottom bracket. The correct rivet and spring are available.
