    C2 Power steering cylinder differences

My 66 cylinder was replaced by a technician who discarded the old one. How do you tell a 66 from others, or from new ones currently for sale? How do I identify a used/rebuilt cylinder for my 66?

    Dave------

I've never noted any differences in these cylinders. That's supported by the part numbers, too. The part number of the cylinder used for 1963 was GM #5691112. The part number used for 1982 was GM #5691112. All the ones in between were 5691112, too. The one sold today is GM #5691112.

Of course, just because the part number has remained the same doesn't necessarily mean that the part has not changed in some minor way. However, as I say, I've never noted any differences.

Some rebuilt cylinders have the main tube of the cylinder cut and welded. If so, this weld is easily discernable.
