Re: A different offering...
Dennis I admit your knowledge of those years is fare better then mine so I don't disagree with you , but do think EARLY? 59 may have had them, but then I would not argue the point.because I'm in to 53 up to early 58.
You've for gotten more about 59 and up years then I would ever know.
It's just your age old man.- Top

Re: C-1 Welded Wheels
Jerry,
I think that the reason that the JG is silent on this,is that there is not a consensus on this issue. My original wheels on my early 60 were of the non-cutout variety, and I have had many sets of wheels pass through my hands, and have never had a set of dogbone cutout wheels that were dated later than 58.
That being said, I have had many sets of dogbone cutout wheels that did not have a date code or the Kelsey Hays logo on them, so my assumption is that GM had wheels supplied by more than one vendor and it is quite possible that such wheels could have been used on later model cars. I would think that you would stand almost no chance of a deduct for either wheel. I have 3 non-cutout wheels right now and none of them are dated or trademarked!

John has just done a brilliant job of explaining why we wish we knew more than we do. And yes, Roy, my age helps and hurts every day. I will go out on a limb and say I've yet to examine a RPO 276 5 1/2" wheel with dog bonzzzz... Best, DC- Top
