I'm restoring the top dash pad for my '73 and need some help. I believe that there is a small bracket (about 4" long, tapered, sort of U-channel) that screws to the underside of the dash pad. Can anyone tell me where it bolts to the pad, what is its purpose (what else bolts to it) and how many are there supposed to be. I have the pad and 2 of these brackets but they were not installed when I bought the car(1 may be an extra from the "mystery box" of parts that came with the car). Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Jim - Elkhart '73

Re: '73 dash pad question
Jim,
Sorry, but it looks like you've been waiting since Wednesday. I've been inside the dash of my 68 coupe which, besides 68 lit, is all I have for reference. I don't remember the 4" piece that you mention and it may or may not be there for 68, or I just missed noticing it. What does your 73 AIM have to offer? At best this might draw some attention.
