the "windowed" needle seat has 2 slots in the bottom of the brass seat to let the fuel in faster,the fuel does not have to come up passed the needle to get into the float bowl. the stone filter does not have the check valve only the paper ones.
The fire potential is the main reason I replaced the Q-Jet on my 68 327/350 with a Holley 6210 spreadbore double pumper back in 73. Still enjoying the performance of the Holley 6210 spreadbore double pumper.
