Has anybody else found Hurst linkage arms in which the holes were too small to fit over the transmission gear selecting studs? A couple months ago I installed a new Hurst shifter and kit with the GM looking fake handle in my C1. I found that the arms wouldn't fit over the studs so I called the Hurst (MR Gasket) tech line. Both people I talked to, including the "head Hurst guy", seemed suprised there was a problem. The Hurst guy said he would personaly go to the bin and send me correct arms that would fit. I'm still waiting. On another forum, somebody else mentioned they had the same problem (I knew I couldn't be the only one). I've started to think Hurst got a batch of bad parts and instead of correcting the problem, they have left it to the customers to correct. Has anybody here had a problem and how was the problem resolved? Thanks. Pat G.

Re: Hurst shifter linkage
That is correct about the differences in the Muncies. I have the earlier muncie
with the 3/8" threaded studs and the rectangular mounting bosses. The Hurst arms
have a round hole with a cutout on each side of the hole for the mounting bosses. The holes in the arms are the exact shape but the diameter of the hole is about 1/8" too small and the little cutout areas for the bosses are a shade too small as well. With the help of the Hurst tech line, we have determined that I have the right kit, the arms are stamped with the right part number, and that the holes should fit over a 3/8" bolt (but they don't). I have made them fit with the help of MR.die grinder but would still like to get a proper set from Hurst if they exist. Thanks for the help, any more ideas would be appreciated. Pat G.- Top
