I have my 4 speed shifter apart to clean up. What finish should I use? I assume semi gloss black. Should I mask the areas that contact each other and then grease? Any hints here would be great.
I see the chrome ball is worn on both sides. Has anyone ever tried to put a sheet of teflon on the flat bracket itself to take out the slop and some of the rattling?
