    fyi, when I went to "recondition" what I thought was the original rear spring (new liners, new "Rear spring grey" paint, etc.) on my 65 I encountered a problem with the liners, which have a raised edge, being too skinny for my spring leaves.

    I now have a nicely-painted but non-original rear leaf spring in my basement . . . annoyed at myself for not confirming sooner in the project that it was or wasn't an original part . . .

    ps - as to your recent query about how typical is it for liners to bunch up or get out of line, here's what mine looked like before I got to it:
