Re: Emerald Chevrolet Beverly Hills Ca.

I can tell you this: Emerald Chevrolet is long-gone and there is no other Chevrolet dealer at that location today. In fact, there is no Chevrolet dealer currently located in Beverly Hills, at all. That's not surprising since Chevrolet is a brand that probably wouldn't sell too well in that area. I'm surprised that there was EVER a Chevrolet dealer there; although I've spent a lot of time in southern California, I never heard of it.
In any event, it would have to have been a very small dealership. That part of North Cannon Drive doesn't have any real estate conducive to anything like a large dealership and I don't think that it ever has. I have a good friend that lives about 6 blocks away and has lived there for about 40+ years. I'll ask him if he remembers it.
Also, there is no archive of dealer records anywhere that I know of. Most always, when dealers go out of business, any old records that they might still have get tossed. I can absolutely assure you that there isn't some old abandoned Chevrolet dealership at 350 N. Cannon Drive today with a roomful of boxes of dusty old records----we're talking just 2 blocks from Rodeo Drive, one of the most "upscale" shopping districts in the world. Real estate in that area just doesn't "sit idle" like that. My recollection of my last visit to the area is that there are no auto dealerships, at all, on that part of N. Cannon Drive---just small shops, storefronts, and "boutiques".In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
