    Smog pump & diverter valve 69 427/390

Was wondering if anyone had as was willing to part with a 69 427/390 smog pump bracket and/or a diverter valve? I can be reached at 941-468-3086.

    Thanks,

    Paul-----

The 69-71 AIR pump was the same for all Corvettes and other Chevrolet models. These are not too hard to come by. They're hard to come by in NOS form, but in used or rebuilt form, there are more than a few around.

The 68-74 Corvette big block pump bracket is harder to find. However, it is reproduced and the reproduction that I've seen looked pretty true to the original. Installed on the engine and painted, I don't see how anyone could tell them apart.

The diverter valve is another story entirely. The 69-71 big block Corvette (except L-88) diverter valve was unique to that application and is VERY difficult to find. NOS examples sell for $1000, or more. Used ones sell for $500, or more. The 1968 (and, 1969 L-88/ZL-1) valve is even more difficult to find.

joe: is the 68 to 74 bb smog pump mounting bracket cast iron like a 66 or 67 bb smop pump bracket?. reason i ask is that the repo 66-7 cast iron bracket lacks the GM embossed on it whereas the originals have GM embossed thereon. mike

Bill Hodel can probably supply you with your AIR needs. I have been very happy with his services. A google search will give you his name and number in OH.

No, the 68-74 bracket is a fabricated steel piece. I don't think that there are even any markings on it. I'll have to dig one out to be sure, though. I was not aware that the 66-67 bracket was being reproduced.
