It's Showtime! I am ready to drop the freshly restored '57 body onto my freshly restored chassis. The steering box/colums assembly must be installed in the body prior to assembly with the chassis.
QUESTION: It looks like the big trick is going to be fitting the pitman arm over the top of the frame and under the exhaust manifold!!!! All this while trying not to scratch up anything else. What tips can you offer to accomplish this task with a minimum of profanity? It looks like removing the pitman arm would help the installation process, but then be almost impossible to reinstall the pitman arm once the body and chassis is together. Any helpful tips here would be appreciated...We may be on the road next month in our new '57 Corvette! Terry Plata
