Hi, I am interested in learning how to go about restoring a C3. I don't know where to start, however, because I have very little mechanic experience, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the correct direction, whether it be books I should read or websites to visit. I am considering making it a completely classic exterior with some more modern interior features. Any help would be very appreciated.

Re: Help Rebuilding/Restoration of a C3?
For the restoration questions, visit the NCRS store online. They have books available with a WEALTH of knowledge in them. I do not know of a good web site, however someone else may know of one. This board is the best source of knowledge available.
The restoration can be a learning experience. Realize that there are things that you can do yourself, things that are best left to professionals. Ask for references from anyone that you sublet work to. There are some very capable professionals and just as many or more "jacklegs" who talk a good game but do not understand what a restoration actually is.Dick Whittington- Top

Re: Help Rebuilding/Restoration of a C3?
Hi Josh,
I assume that you already own a C-3
F.Y.I.
I'm knee deep into a frame off restoration of a 68 basket case doing 95% of the work myself.
Even at that, I'm still going to have a good 8K invested in parts and services before It's finished.
And that's just for a very correct looking driver
There will be plenty of encouragement to read up and be knowledgeble on where you want to take your project. I agree, as it can get pretty pricey really REALLY quick once you get going.
Can't think of a better bunch than this group here to help you sort it out.
Good luck on your whatever decision you make.

Right there w/ Chuck Rice
I'm doing pretty much the same as Chuck described in his post, except for body/paint work. This is the place to be for correct restoration advice. There are many sources for parts, good and bad. When you get to a point where parts sources are needed, email me and I'll share all that I have learned willingly.- Top

Re: Right there w/ Chuck Rice
Hey Rich! Looks like our schedules are in sync. May 28th is my target. I've had way too much metal to replace to get into here, but my advice to anyone considering a project car with any visible rust damage is to turn and run as fast and far as the heart will allow!! The good side is you will wind up with a brand new car, whether you wanted one or not ;-)) I'll be thinkin' of ya as I'm sittin' on my orange crate, goin' thru the gears!- Top
