c1 trans dipstick

While restoring my 60, I was unable to locate a trans dipstick to replace the one missing from my car. In desperation, I finally call an old car junk yard I used while restoring my 56 Bel Aire, and had them send me one from a 55 Chevy passenger car (same cast iron powerglide used). The car will never be judged while I own it although it did receive a beautiful frame off restoration. My concern is wether or not the "FULL" mark on my dipstick matches that of the original for my car. Would someone please e-mail me the measurement from the bottom of the top cap to the full mark so I can be sure I am running with the proper amount of tranny fluid? Thanks as usual for the excellent help!

Don, if your 60 is the same as a 56 from under the cap where the dip tube will sit is 10 5/8" to the full mark

Does anyone have a picture of a cast iron glide dipstick for a '59? The top is broken off of mine. I need to find out what it looked like.

Kevin, I would be glad to try and take a picture of my 1960 PG dipstick and send it to you if that would help. Let me know if that would work for you.
