    C-2 horns

Pulled my horns off and now I am wondering if they are original. They are stamped Delco Remy but there isn't any other markings. According to the judging manual there is a reference to the part numbers and dates but it doesn't say where they are located. Are these horns the real deal or an impostor?

    Re: C-2 horns

Some are stamped so lightly, the paint on the housing fills the emboss making it difficult, sometimes impossible, to read. The stamped emboss is on the horn body DIRECTLY adjacent to the horn's audio aperature. Several good pictures can be found in MF Dobbin's 'Corvette Fact Book' which makes a good restoration companion (not always right) since it's basically a 'picture' book and pictures are often worth a thousand words, as the saying goes.

      Bob,

The part numbers I'm looking at on an original pair of horns from a '65 Corvette are p/n 9000487 date 5F1 for the left ans p/n 9000488 dated 5E2 for the right. Hope this helps you out.
