    '60 Headlight Switch

    Now, one for the "electroids".

The "096" 1960 headlight switch has - looking from the top - 8 bayonent clips.

From the front of the car, the 1st clip is parallel to the dash face; the next 2 (closer to the dash face) are alongside each other and perpendicular; # 4 is still closer and also perpendicular; 5 & 6 are alongside each other and still perpendicular and 7 and 8 are closest to the dash face and parallel to it. Clear?

The harness' plastic holder uses ALL of these bayonent clips EXCEPT # 5 - the one of that pair on the driver's side (again from the top). I am unaware of ANY use for that connection. Please advise to the contrary.

MY switch has a 10 or 12 gauge wire permanently soldered to Bayonent # 5 that has been CUT OFF. The car was once equipped with a supplementary pair of Marchal halogen driving lamps.

I have a film showing this car approaching the pits at night; as the car approaches, the LOWER Marchal driving lights go out BEFORE the headlights and then a flicker of the parking lights.

Can anyone tell me if this switch, connected in this manner, would operate this way? Where is bayonent clip in the shut-down sequence? Is this where my lights were connected? Thanks. LL
