If a C4 coupe was purchased with the optional clear targa top, did you get the solid/paint color targa top included or did you have to order both tops? Nobody seems sure...

Re: [C4] Optional Top Question

You could get it both ways. If you ordered just the transparent top, then you didn't get the body-clored, solid top. However, you could order the dual removable top (RPO C2L) in which case you got BOTH the transparent top and the body-colored, solid top. In that case, the second top was installed in the rear compartment holding fixture upon delievery. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

If you get the build sheet for your car from the Museum, it will show how your car was equipped.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: [C4] Optional Top Question
In addition, the option did not start until the 1986 model year, per the Black Book.

Re: [C4] Optional Top Question
Thanks everybody - I hadn't thought of looking forward a couple years to see how it was handled. I checked my sticker and build sheet and I definitely have CC3 on my 1985.
It's kind of chastening to realize I had all the data in hand (I have the Black Book and Corvette Specs); just didn't know how to parse it.- Top
