    C3 carpet install question.

I am installing carpet in my '72. I know you need to cut a square out for the lap belt under the seats. However, do you need to cut the carpet though the "channel" that leads up to the door seal and under the bar that prevents the seatbelt from going under the seat? To explain further, the plastic cover over the belt retractor has an opening by the door sill. This opening is where the buckle goes under the bar and up between teh two lips of the plastic cover. Between these to "lips" or edges is the opening for the buckle, should I cut the carpet between where the buckle sits, ie. cut a channel from the door sill to the retractor under the seat?

Wow. I hope I explained this right. I removed my carpet a while ago and forget what it looked like when I pulled it.

    Regards,
    Brandon

Brandon I think all the carpet was removed in the area under the metal rod originally. Lyle

Lyle is correct. There is no carpet in the tunnel that the belt comes through.
