    Flight Judging and Founders Award???

    Hello,

I am preparing my '64 Corvette and will attempt to get a Founders Award at the 2005 NCRS National Convention in Utah next year. I was wondering if I can also have the car flight judged at the same meet? Since I will be driving the car a total of 900 miles I'd like to have it flight judged one last time. My car is an older restoration far from perfect, but I think it should score in the low 90's and with the mileage points added I'd like to try for a top flight award one last time. As I said this is a car that gets driven during good weather and hasn't seen the inside of a trailer since 1988.

    Thanks,

I would think a call to Roy Sinor (or an email) would give you the answer to your question.

I got my Founder's in 2003 at Hershey. You will need to have it flight judged before the convention to satisfy one of the prerequisites. The only thing you need to do at convention is to drive it there on the road tour (over 500 miles) and have the ops check there. That is assuming you have fulfilled all the other requirements. If your question is can you also have it flight judged at that same convention, I would think it would not be a problem as an ops check is part of flight judging. As previously stated, Roy S. could give you a definate answer. Don H.

According the the Judging Reference Manual, the only dual judging allowed at the National onvention is for a car that is undergoing Star/Bowtie judging and the final stage of the Duntov/McLellan Award. Any exceptions would have to be appproved by Roy Sinor.
