I have lost two clutch fork to rod clevis pins over the last month. I am using the paragon pin with cotter pin. I don't understand what the problem could be and I am ready to install a bolt with two jam nuts. Is this common on C1 cars.I never had this happen on my mid years. The whole assembly is new from the pedal on down to the clutch fork. I don't use the monster spring and noticed today that in my haste to hit the road that I failed to install the anti-rattle spring. Is my alignment with the alternate spring wrong or could failure to install the anti-rattle be the culprit.

Re: 1959 clutch clevis pin
I've had about 40 solid-axles, and have never lost one. I've always used the Godzilla spring and the anti-rattle springs -- so I don't know what the cause is, but I know that it is not typical.- Top

Re: 1959 clutch clevis pin
Gary; not being as close to the good lord as the good reverend, i have not had 40 plus c-1's but of the dozen or so i have, none have ever tossed the pins, whether with or without anti-rattle spings. why not put another pin and cotter key in then OBSERVE the cotter key frequently to see what outside forces are impacting the pin/key. mike- Top
