I have just removed the power brake booster from a C3. Needless to say (if you've ever done this) it is a giant pain in the rear. Anyone out there have any suggestions on how to simplify the installation? I am not concerned about strictly maintaining the factory setup if another method produces a more easily maintainable installation.

I think you're at the half-way point!
My 1980 was a PITA as well. I used a deep socket with a "universal" attachment and various (long) extensions. Also, I had pulled out the seats to give myself more room.Judging Chairman Mid-Way USA (Kansas) Chapter- Top

Mike,
I agree with Dave about the deepwells and the universal. Take the seat out and it still wasn't real easy. I did my 71 a few years ago and when you put it back together, use lock washers and regular nuts instead of locknuts. They are easier to put on. Also check out your break pedal as to which hole the clevis pen goes in when the brakebooster yoke is reinstalled. If you have an automatic, I believe that there is two holes to choose from. A stick, I believe only has one hole. It is important because the brakelight switch won't make proper contact with the pedal and you can't run the switch out far enough in trying to adjust it. Putting the clip on the clevis pin is something you only want to do once as it is soo #$#@ hard to do. At least it was for me. I also used several 3/8 drive extentions together with the universal to tighten everything up. As to the locknuts, I did put them back on, but next time I will use the regular nuts with lock washers. You'll see what I mean, once you have done it.
