I'm pretty new to NCRS, and I'm guessing this question has been discussed and answered and probably documented in article form, but here goes: Who out there is the longest-term original owner of a Corvette, and what is it? I see in some posts guys who still have early '60s cars they bought new. Wondering who holds the record, and with what car.

Re: Longest Original Ownership?
Looks like that would be tough to beat, and it would get down to serial numbers. That's plain amazing to me, but I guess once you had a milestone car like that for say ten or fifteen years, the temptation to part with it would be greatly diminished. I wonder what the record is for all cars? Could be sixty to seventy years possibly.- Top

Re: Longest Original Ownership?
The difficult part in owning desirable cars was not having a crystal ball when we did own them. I once had a 1963 Corvair Spyder convertible, 1964 GTO, and a 1966 Chevelle SS. Note the past tense on the verb. They were not collectibles at the time.- Top

Re: Original Ownership addendum
I traded a running 66 Corvair Corsa convertible for a bag of home grown vegetables. I still think I got the best part of the deal.

Re: Longest Original Ownership?
Well, Charlie, if you have a candidate for the title, tell them to hang on for a bit...If Gary's neighbor is the original owner of a 53, then it's a very good bet the title is going to change hands sometime within the next ten to twenty years. The trick will be for the contender to hang on long enough.- Top

Re: Longest Original Ownership?
If you are referring to Dan Murphy, the Corvette is a 1954. Nick.- Top
