    C2 Emergency Brake Handle Rebuild

Has anybody rebuilt the emergency brake handle assembly and re-installed the pawls and spring while the bracket was in the car? If so, are there any tips to doing so? I'm sure it's a lot easier with the bracket removed from the dash, but my seats are out and there is room to get under the dash on my 66.

I tried to do what you are suggesting on my 63. I ended up removing the entire assembly. I found it was easier that way. I think it is possible to do with out removing the assembly but it was easier with the assembly out of the car. The most difficult part of removing the unit is the disconnecting the oil pressure line. With the seat out that shouldn't be too hard.
Working upside down under the dash is just not very easy.
