followup--C2 hard starting

Just a followup note-posted a while ago about sluggish ,almost no starting
after a drive when engine still hot. . Differing thoughts but several blamed "heat soak" from exhaust
manifold and pipes. Happy to report a relatively easily installed solenoid
heat shield corrected the problem. What a great resource we have in this forum.

Purchased the kit at Long Island Corvette-had all the parts individually
but the catalog is helpful and makes it obvious what is needed.

I called Long Island and they sell a shield for a 64-67. They said it would not fit a 63 and , therefore, I assume will not fit my 62. How does this shield attach to the solenoid and any idea why 63 would be different than a 64?
