    Need C1 Part Lookup Help

I need to know the dimensions for the following screws called out in the 1960 AIM, gas tank cover screws. Can someone look up P/N 273335 and 161869? Thanks in advance for the help.

Unfortunately, those screws were never available in SERVICE from GM. Due to that fact and due to the fact that I don't happen to have any non-SERVICE parts references for those particular screws, I can't be of assistance.

Have you checked the number with G.M. ? When I was a partsman at a G.M. Dealership there was a book called the "Standard Stock Book" that listed all of the nuts, bolts, clips, etc that they used . These screws and such were not listed in the parts book. I don't know if this bok is still around but a G.M. Body Shop would probably have it for retainers and small odds and ends to repair collision damage.

Yes, there used to be published by GM the catalog that you mentioned. However, since the 2 screws that Joe was asking about were never available in SERVICE, they would not be included in that reference. That catalog only includes "standard parts" that were available in SERVICE from GM. It does not include a great many parts that were used in PRODUCTION only. For fastners and other "standard parts", GM never had available in SERVICE all of the fastners used in PRODUCTION. The ones that are/were available in SERVICE were also usually used in PRODUCTION, too, but it's just a fraction of those used in PRODUCTION. Sometimes you get lucky and the PRODUCTION fastner that you're after was available in SERVICE. Then, you can get certain information regarding its specs AND, in some cases, you can even purchase the fastner. But, it's the exception rather than the rule.

For some "standard parts", I have "other-than-SERVICE" originated parts information. Unfortunately, I don't have it for these particular fastners.
