Does anyone know of a WEB site that has the SAE standards for Gross and Net horsepower ratings? The Gross is covered under SAE J245 and the Net is covered under SAE J1995. Have run a search of the SAE web site (www.sae.org) and come up empty. Anyone have that info???

Re: SAE Gross vs Net Horsepower
Don't know of web site with such info, but DO have fuzzy recollection of seeing a conversion table for various Chevy cars. Might have been in the '72 AIM or '72 CSM. I remember finding it interesting because it was NOT multiply by a constant 'fudge factor' and conversion varied with power plant and host vehicle....- Top

Re: SAE Gross vs Net Horsepower
I did a search and found that the new "net" rating falls under SAE publication J1349. Here is a link to where you can buy it from SAE. Sorry, couldn't find any more free info. Anybody an SAE member that might share a little info?
