    Intermittent Stall - Follow Up

See below for my original message. A number of great suggestions were given and I found something bizarre. There is no wire hooked up to the ground connection on the alternator - I know that's not good but could this create an intermittent stall??

    "66 Vette / Automatic

The engine intermittently stalls for no apparent reason. It will stall both when idling and when driving. When it stalls, I believe it to be electrical rather than mechanical since the radio goes off when the engine stalls. Besides a bad ignition switch, can anyone give another other suggestions on what to check?

In addition, I believe my alternator has a bad diode because the dash and headlights they dim and return to normal repeatedly. I've ordered a new alternator. Can this in anyway cause the engine to stall?

    Thanks... "

Check the wiring harness connection at the firewall. I would carefully open it up and clean both sides with an electrical connection cleaner and then apply some dielectric greese.
