I have a chance to buy a windshield wiper motor with the original washer pumps intact. The one on my car is not original and I would like to get it replaced. The motor I am looking at has the output shaft to the wiper mechanism broken off. Can this be repaired? The motor definately needs to be rebuilt and I was wondering if this is an issue and if so, should I continue my search for a correct wiper motor. Just to be curious, how much does an original resotred wiper motor cost and how much would a used wiper motor that needs rebuilt cost? Thanks for the help.

Kelley-----
The w/s wiper motor drive shaft can be replaced on these wiper motors; it's not a big deal. The shaft, GM #4960192, is GM-discontinued. However, it was the same for all 1968-82 Corvette wiper motors. A replacement can be obtained from another donor motor assembly. The same shaft was used on most 1968 to 1975 Chevrolet full size passenger cars, Chevelles, and Novas.
1969-72 Corvette wiper motors are available in rebuilt form fairly readily. An auto parts store can likely fix you up with one. What's NOT available is an original style washer pump and, most certainly, the solenoid valve used for the headlight washers for 1969-only. This valve assembly is found on the driver's side of 1969 only w/s wiper motor/washer pump assemblies.
With a rebuilt w/s wiper motor, you will NOT get the washer pump or the valve. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1969 Windshield wiper motor
Thanks Joe, I do have an aftermarket motor on the car and I do want to replace it. The used one does have all the parts for the headlight washer. I have heard that they are hard to find and if you do find one, it will cost an arm and a leg. Think I will try to get the one if I can get him to seperate from it. Thanks for the help.- Top
