    1967 Battery Hold-Down

My battery does not have a hold-down: it is just sitting on the tray. The various catalogues distinguish between years, SB/BB and A/C and non-A/C. What retainer do I need for a 1967 SB with no A/C?

Per the AIM on page 12-A6 the battery is held on the tray with a clamp at the base of the battery. These clamps are generic across the GM car line. It is a metal stamping about 3" long with a bolt in the center.

Paul, I believe the 67 with no AC has the retainer down at the bottom of the battery so there is no top plate or J bolts. There is also a heat shield toward the engine side. Long Island Corvette catalog shows the components in section 27. Joe.

Thanks fellows. Mine has gone missing. I tried GM but it is the usual "not available. I will try local battery shops before ordering from the specialty houses.
