I have a mid year 92 with the ZO7 supension option. We noticed a shock leaking and started to replace the set.We found the two rear shocks have broken drive gears on the top of each shock when we ask our local gm dealer they just shrug. We also can't find information on how to calibrate these shocks any one seen anything like this before? any Ideas?

Re: 92ZO7 help?

Although this question may be a little outside the charter of the NCRS Discussion Board, perhaps I can provide a little info without upsetting others too much.
The FX-3 adjustable suspension shocks used with the ZO7 performance handling package have two, primary serviceable components: the shock absorbers and the actuator assemblies. As far as I know, the selector driven gear is part of the shock absorber assembly and is not seperately serviceable. The selector drive gear is part of the actuator assembly and is also not available seperately.
For futher information, the rear shocks for 1992 models are GM #22064479 and carry a GM list price of $597.08/ea. The actuator assemblies are GM #22068667 and have a GM list price of $492.00/ea. However, you can obtain replacements through The Last Detail and others at much discounted prices.
By the way, the replacement cost of these shocks/actuators is the EXACT reason that I didn't order ZO7 or FX3 options on my original owner '92. Having then driven an FX3-equipped car, I couldn't see enough difference to justify the maintenence cost.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: CD/cassette/radio Delco Bose Gold replace or r
Joe,
Thanks for your excellent post. It helped me decide what to do. J Trekell is looking up some stuff too. You're right, the button lights are orange and I like to keep it that way. I've decided to get mu current unit fixed or buy a used or refurbished one of the same vintage.
