    '62 cluster

I am working on a '62. Where on the instrument cluster is the ground wire attatched? Where exactly is the amp capacitor attatched? I have an issue with this car where the two above questions might be an issue. The fuel gage right now reads 1/2 a tank (which is correct) but whenever the headlights, brakelights, or blinkers are on the fuel gauge reads full tank. The gauges all work like they are supposed to otherwise. Turn signal lights work. I would think that if the ground was not right, nothing would work. Right now the ground is attatched to the housing for the speedo, where I thought I took it off of. Any advise would be helpfull.

Usually the fuel gauge only moves about 1/4 tank when these items are turned on.

If your fuel gauge moves as the electrical load changes, add a ground wire from the tank sending unit flange to the frame. Just run a wire down the hole where the fuel lines go and attach in a "stealth" location.

          Jeremy:
I have some e-photos of my 61 if you e-mail me I can send them directly to you. They show grounding and most of the capacitor.
