I just bought a speedo/tach cable grease gun adapter from Corvette Central. Question: Can I apply the grease from the trans/tach end of the cables without the chance of squirting grease into the guages? Or am I better off to disconnect them under the dash and run the grease toward the tach/trans?

Re: C2: Lubricating speedo/tach cables
you'd be better off not using the CC greaser as excessive lubricant(how will you determine the amount of lubricant applied with CC luber?) can make its way into the speedo head which leads to speedo failure. best method involves unscrewing cable housing nut from speedometer head, pulling inner cable out of the cable housing, then lubricate by hand. wipe excess lubricant then re-install. i use AC delco speedo lube. good luck, mike- Top

Re: C2: Lubricating speedo/tach cables
Mike - is the GM lube that blue grease that is a bit stiff that helps damp the oscillations of the cable? Seems like that was the type of lube that works best, the graphite junk in the normal places seems to promote needle bobbling. What is GM's grease P/N? I would like to order some...thx!.....Craig- Top
