    C2 Battery

Can anybody recommend a good service replacement Delco battery for my 66 327/300 non air car? I'd like one that is close to the original top post battery. Are there any service replacements having the plastic cell caps that resemble the original battery?

    Regards,

Dave, take a look at turbostart.com. I just purchased a new original type with the correct type caps etc. Nice battery if you want original. They were nice to deal with. Joe

        Clup,
New Castle has a dealer in my immediate area. Not sure that I want to plunk down $130 for a batery now until I get closer to actual judging. In the meantime, looking for something more reasonalbe in price -- $60.

If you just want a functionally correct battery, a Johnson Controls Group 24 is an excellent choice. The Costco, Pep Boys, and Autozone house brands are
all the same maintenance free Johnson Controls battery. Just peel off the stick on labels, and you have a plain black generic battery that will unobtrusively blend into the engine compartment for about fifty bucks.

I noticed that Delco has an ACD3478 or a 24-5yr battery listed. I assume that the 24 stands for Group 24. Does anyone know anything about these batteries?

              Hello Dave:
I also needed a battery for my '64 a while back and this article was recommended to me then on this board. It is quite informative. I took their advice and its worked for me. David
