In the 58-60 judging manual it states that the front springs are to be painted gloss black and have an "identifying grey stripe". Please give me a few details on the chacteristics of this grey stripe, ie: Where, how wide, how long, what shade of grey, gloss or semi-gloss, is it supposed to be blacked out?
the gray stripe was a strip that ran down each coil of the spring from top to bottom. i used an acid brush and just ran it straight down as if i was a worker on the assembly line who was pretty board of making paint strips on springs all day. they ended up being about 3/4 of an inch wide. i got the paint from quanta products they sell a whole kit with instructions. it is glossy and of a lighter shade.
hope this helps
