    '65 PB Help!

I have a '65 with power brakes with all the correct factory components. The brakes seem to build up pressure as I drive, it only takes about 5 miles and you can feal the brakes building up pressure. What could be the problem? I have checked the parking brake-that is not it. I have actually shaved about an 1/8th of an inch off of the push rod that goes from the Booster to the master cylinder (no change). Any help would be appreciated.

What do you mean by build up pressure?

Are they applying them selfs? or do you feel them dragging?

I have seen it happen, but only when the pickup hole in the MC is not uncovered or if there is some restriction in the lines.

Do you have the specified pedal free play (set by adjusting the threaded clevis and lock nut on the booster-to-pedal rod)? If your pedal is up solid against the rubber bumper with no free play, it can partially activate the power valve in the booster and apply slight pressure to the master cylinder, which causes (hot) dragging brakes (not good for the rotors, pads, or wheel bearings).

I do have the correct play in the pedal, all the brake lines are new. I have even put pressure frome the master cylinder and flushed out the lines with no restriction. Yes the brakes do start to apply themselves, the loinger I drive it the more the brakes are applied, I believe that they would eventually lock up. ATTN: Wayne Womble--which pickup hole in the MC is not uncovered are you talking about, please explain. Thanks for the input. Please advise.

Inside bottom of the bowl, you should see a hole where the fluid is drawn into the piston. The seal on the piston covers this hole when the brakes are applied and uncovers when released. Make sure the seal completely uncovers the hole. There should be one for the front and one for the rear.

If the rotors or rear bearings are out of balance/true and they pulse/push the pads in and out,Would they cause this problem?
