    C3 - 1973 Door Alarm Rivets

Can anybody help me with the rivets that attach the alarm switch to the door jam? I'm not sure what size, composition, etc. to use.

    Thanks,
    Ron

Ron The metal plate is attached with 3/16 X 1/4 or 3/8 what ever is needed. If both rivets are broken you must work thru the #3 body mount hole. Enlarge the hole inside so the metal part will slip thru. String a clothes line rope thru the holes put the part on the rope and tie a knot now pull it thru and with the rope and hold it up against the back side while you rivet it from the front. Lyle

Thanks, I got lucky when I broke mine...I was able to catch the metal part with a coat hanger before it dropped.

Ron I think it will be very hard to drill it out for new rivets in position. I would remove it by opening up the round hole inside #3 body mount. Make the rivets fit easy and reassemble as described. Lyle
