'57 Horn bolts

Should the WB bolts that attach the horn brackets on a '57 be painted gloss black as the horns or left unpainted?....thanks

Rex, I believe I would expect to see them dark. peraps black phosphate or engine blackout. The horns themselves were dipped so the bolts wouldn't be painted glossy with them.

I'll offer another opinion. They were not painted at the same time as the horns, nor were they on the car during the blackout process. I've generally found cad plate to be the case.

Mike, I tend to agree with your logic on this based on the assembly process, the question I have in my mind is this? Usually when a bolt like this shows, and the bottom bolt shows through the grill they seem to be blacked out so they don't stand out? Any thoughts?
