      Jeremy,

You might check ads in the Driveline or you might just check your local yellow pages for a small rebuilder in your home town. There isn't anything too complicated about this job and you will have a chance to speak to the shop owner face to face.

I've found most owner/operator rebuilders understand the "restoration mentality" and will oblige your request to have your original casting rebuilt and returned without a problem. You can also save the extra shipping and associated cost of a specialty shop. Same goes for replating your lid.

      Good luck,
      tc

I just had a 68 PB MC done (SS sleeve) by Apple Hydrolics here on LI. They did a fine job. They are local for me, so I dropped it off and picked it up 5 days later. As the previous post said, many shops can do this. If there is one close to you, that's an option.

I would not go with WhitePost if I were you! They installed a wrong part in my M/C for my '63 and it messed me up for days. When I told them about it, they just sent to me my original part which I had to install.

No, "sorry" or "We will fix it.", nothing! As far as I am concerned, they did not stand behind their work. Very shotty.

In my opinion, WhitePost is a bad deal.

Regardless of who rebuilds it for you, make sure you tell them(in writing) if you want it painted or not. If you're not specific they'll probably paint it some brand "cast iron" color....and they sometimes paint the inside too, which you don't want. I bought mine already rebuilt, and whoever did it painted it cast iron color inside and out and I had to strip all the paint off.
