Re: c3 dash install, my experience
I just finshed installing (after many many redo's)the dash and console on my 69. Not sure what the expects do, but I got the best results by losely holding the center dash inplace then attaching the console to it and bringing both pieces together into the final location. Installing the driver dash and passenger dash last allowed best centering the center dash on the A/C ducts whcih have limited adjustment. A mistake I repeatedly made was tring to put the driver and passenger dash in first then not being able to mate the center dash on the duct work. The last piece to go in is the emgergency brake console but it must be test fitted before finalizing the shift console location to be sure the brake console fits correctly between it's rear mounting surface and the mating surface on the shift console. I found the AIM to be of little help, sure would be nice if there were assembly sequence instructions that accompanied the AIM.
Even after more the a dozen install remove cycles on these pieces I am still not totally satisfied with the centering on the center dash it still needs to be just a smidge further right but cannot get it there due to the A/C duct. so I am probably still not exactly right on the assembly sequence/adjustment.- Top
