Because I like the safety of the dual circuit system, I am going to convert the '65 to original style (J-50, I think) power brakes.
I emptied the bank account and got the master, which appears to be setup for
3/16 lines. I dug through the sofa and the seats in all the other cars and
found enough change to get new lines, the rear of which will fit the master,
but the new front line (M/C to block at left front wheel) appears to be a
larger, maybe 1/4" line. . . . I expected the front and rear lines to be the
same size. . .. Correct? The AIM was not particularly helpful and the
pictures in Noland's book were a bit confusing, too. Any thoughts? I think
they sent me a '66 power brake front line, which would account for the larger
diameter tubing . . . I believe the '65s had 3/16 all around, and the '66s
(and, maybe, really late '65s) had 1/4 all around. . . .
Also, the trailing arm lines do not have spring type armor, which I thought
they should. Correct?
Last week the people at inlinetube told me it is all perfect, and all is well
in the world . . . but then stopped returning my calls . . . .
Thanks,
John Dillman
